After reading many positive reviews, we decided to book the Sambangan Waterfalls Trekking Tour, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made during our holiday in Bali. From beginning to end, the entire experience was perfectly organised, filled with adventure, breathtaking scenery, and genuine Balinese hospitality.
Our day started with an early pickup from our hotel. Right on schedule, our friendly driver greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel comfortable immediately. The drive to North Bali was relaxing, offering beautiful views of Bali’s countryside as we left the busy tourist areas behind and headed toward the peaceful village of Sambangan.
Upon arrival, we met our local trekking guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and enjoyable to spend the day with. Before starting the hike, he explained the route, the waterfalls we would visit, and the history of Sambangan Village, which is famous for its collection of hidden waterfalls and pristine tropical rainforest.
The trek itself was absolutely spectacular. We followed small jungle trails, crossed clear streams, and walked through lush tropical vegetation while listening to the sounds of birds and flowing water. Every turn revealed another beautiful natural landscape, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves.
One after another, we discovered several stunning waterfalls, each with its own unique beauty. Some featured powerful cascades plunging into emerald pools, while others created peaceful natural swimming areas surrounded by towering cliffs and dense jungle. The crystal-clear water was incredibly refreshing, and we couldn’t resist jumping in for a swim.
One of the most exciting parts of the adventure was the opportunity to experience cliff jumping into the natural pools. With our guide carefully explaining the safe jumping spots and encouraging us every step of the way, it became one of the biggest highlights of the day. The combination of adrenaline, laughter, and the incredible natural surroundings made it an unforgettable experience.
Because we enjoyed a steady walking pace, we completed the trek a little earlier than expected. Rather than simply driving us back to the hotel, our thoughtful driver suggested making an extra stop at a traditional Luwak coffee plantation along the way. It was a wonderful surprise and the perfect way to end an already fantastic day.
At the plantation, we learned about the traditional coffee-making process, saw how Bali’s famous coffee is produced, and sampled several locally grown coffees and herbal teas while enjoying the peaceful garden surroundings. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience that added even more value to our adventure.
Looking back, this tour offered everything we were hoping for—beautiful waterfalls, refreshing natural pools, exciting cliff jumping, peaceful jungle trekking, knowledgeable local guides, excellent organisation, and thoughtful service that went beyond our expectations.
