Some tours allow you to see beautiful places.

Others allow you to truly experience the spirit of a destination.

Our Bali Twin Lakes Jungle Trekking Tour with Bali Local Tour Guide was exactly that—an unforgettable journey through ancient rainforest, sacred temples, and the tranquil waters of Lake Tamblingan, guided by passionate local people who made every moment special.

From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organised.

Communication with Dedi Andika before the tour was excellent. The booking process was quick, professional, and incredibly smooth. Every question we had was answered promptly, making it easy to arrange the tour before our visit to Bali.

A Wonderful Start with Dewa Trisna

On the day of the adventure, our friendly driver Dewa Trisna picked us up right on time.

Throughout the journey, he made us feel comfortable and welcome. The drive into the cool mountains of central Bali was filled with spectacular scenery, traditional villages, and beautiful countryside. Dewa’s warm personality and safe driving made the journey relaxing and enjoyable from beginning to end.

Before entering the rainforest, we made our first stop at the magnificent Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.

Situated on the shores of Lake Beratan and surrounded by cool mountain air, the temple looked even more beautiful than the photographs we had seen. The peaceful atmosphere provided the perfect introduction to the spiritual journey that awaited us deeper in the mountains.

Entering Bali’s Ancient Rainforest

Soon afterwards we arrived at the starting point of the jungle trek, where we met our guide, Gde.

From the first few minutes, it became obvious that Gde knew every corner of this forest. His knowledge of the local plants, wildlife, history, and Balinese traditions transformed what could have been a simple walk into a fascinating cultural and natural experience.

Walking beneath enormous tropical trees covered in moss and vines, surrounded by birdsong and the fresh mountain air, felt like stepping into another world.

Unlike the busy tourist areas in southern Bali, the rainforest around the Twin Lakes remains wonderfully peaceful and untouched.

Discovering Hidden Sacred Temples

One of the most remarkable parts of the journey was visiting the ancient temples hidden within the jungle.

Our first stop was Telaga Aye Temple, a peaceful sanctuary quietly nestled among the towering trees. Surrounded by dense rainforest, the temple carried a serene atmosphere that made us feel completely disconnected from the outside world.

As we continued through the forest, Gde explained the spiritual importance of these sacred places and how local communities continue to use them for traditional ceremonies and religious rituals.

We also visited Dalem Temple, another important spiritual site hidden within the ancient forest. Learning about Balinese Hindu beliefs while standing in these sacred locations gave us a much deeper appreciation of the island’s rich cultural heritage.

Crossing the Sacred Waters of Lake Tamblingan

One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the traditional canoe crossing of Lake Tamblingan.

After descending through the rainforest, we stepped aboard a traditional wooden canoe and slowly glided across the calm waters of the lake.

The silence was extraordinary.

Surrounded by untouched rainforest, with mist drifting across the water and mountains rising in the distance, it felt as though time had completely stopped.

It was one of the most peaceful moments of our entire Bali holiday.

The canoe crossing offered a completely different perspective of the sacred lake and allowed us to fully appreciate the natural beauty that makes this region so special.

A Beautiful Ending at Pemulungan Agung Temple

After reaching the opposite shore, our journey concluded with a visit to Pemulungan Agung Temple, another beautiful lakeside temple surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the Twin Lakes region.

Ending the day here felt like the perfect conclusion to an experience that beautifully combined nature, spirituality, and authentic Balinese culture.

More Than a Trek

Looking back, this wasn’t simply a jungle hike.

It was an immersive journey through Bali’s sacred landscape.

Ancient rainforest.

Hidden temples.

Traditional canoeing.

Local stories.

Spectacular scenery.

And the warm hospitality of people who genuinely love sharing their homeland with visitors.

A heartfelt thank you to Dedi Andika for the excellent organisation, Dewa Trisna for the comfortable journey, and especially Gde for sharing his knowledge, passion, and love for this extraordinary place.

If you’re looking to experience the authentic heart of Bali—far from the crowds and surrounded by pristine rainforest, sacred temples, and peaceful lakes—we cannot recommend the Bali Twin Lakes Jungle Trekking Tour highly enough.

It is an unforgettable adventure that perfectly combines nature, culture, spirituality, and genuine Balinese hospitality into one incredible day.
