Our adventure began early in the morning as we met our friendly local guide from Bali Local Tour Guide. From the very beginning, we felt we were in good hands. Our guide was highly experienced, knew the mountains extremely well, and explained everything we needed to know before starting the trek.
The first day’s hike to Pucak Manggu was both challenging and exciting. The trail led us through beautiful tropical forests, peaceful mountain landscapes, and untouched nature that few visitors have the chance to experience. Along the way, our guide made regular stops to ensure everyone was comfortable, sharing stories about the local environment while preparing fresh hot coffee and delicious snacks at scenic viewpoints. These simple moments made the journey even more memorable.
As we reached the summit of Pucak Manggu, the weather unfortunately was not on our side. Thick clouds covered the surrounding mountains, hiding what would normally be spectacular panoramic views. However, mountain adventures are always part of nature, and weather conditions can change unexpectedly.
Originally, we were supposed to spend the night camping under the stars. Because of the poor weather, our guide made a quick and thoughtful decision to prioritize our comfort and safety. Instead of camping in heavy mist and damp conditions, he arranged accommodation at a nearby local guesthouse. It turned out to be the perfect alternative, allowing us to rest comfortably and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Before sunrise on the second day, we continued our journey toward Mount Sanghyang. Hiking through the quiet forest in the early morning darkness created an unforgettable atmosphere. Upon reaching the summit, nature finally rewarded our patience.
As the first rays of sunlight appeared on the horizon, an unbelievably beautiful sunrise unfolded before us. Layers of clouds floated beneath the surrounding mountains while golden sunlight slowly illuminated the landscape. It was one of those rare moments that photographs simply cannot capture. Every step, every challenge, and every change of plan suddenly felt completely worthwhile.
Looking back, this trekking experience taught us that mountain adventures are not only about reaching the summit. They are about embracing nature, adapting to changing conditions, and trusting experienced local guides who know how to make every journey safe and enjoyable. Even though the weather changed our original camping plan, the professionalism of our guide ensured that our experience remained exceptional.
