Exploring Mayong Village with Putu
I had such a fun and memorable experience trekking through Mayong Village with Putu! From the beginning of the trek, I could tell that Putu really knew the area and was passionate about sharing the village with visitors.
He was very knowledgeable about Mayong Village and took me beyond the obvious sights to discover some of the hidden gems and beautiful viewpoints along the trekking route. I really enjoyed being able to see places that I might not have discovered on my own.
The scenery throughout the trek was beautiful, and having a local guide who knew the area so well made the adventure feel much more special and authentic.
A Comfortable Experience as a Solo Traveler
As a solo 19-year-old woman, feeling safe and comfortable was extremely important to me, and Putu did an excellent job of making me feel at ease throughout the entire experience.
I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Instead, Putu was very attentive and made sure I was feeling okay as we went along. His friendly and respectful approach made it easy for me to relax and simply enjoy the adventure.
The Perfect Pace for Me
One thing I especially appreciated was that Putu was completely flexible with my pace. He was happy to walk at whatever speed felt comfortable for me, rather than expecting me to follow a fixed pace.
He also checked in with me regularly to make sure I was enjoying myself and feeling comfortable. Those small moments of attention made a big difference and showed me that he genuinely cared about my experience.
For me, having a guide who is patient, flexible, attentive, and respectful of the guest’s individual pace is extremely important, especially when travelling alone.
Discovering the Hidden Side of Bali
More Than Just a Trek
What I loved about the experience was that it felt like much more than simply going for a hike. Putu showed me the hidden gems of the village, shared his local knowledge, and helped me appreciate the natural beauty and scenery along the way.
I enjoyed having the freedom to take my time, look around, enjoy the views, and experience the village without feeling like I was being rushed from one point to another.
The combination of local knowledge, beautiful scenery, gentle adventure, and personal attention made the experience really enjoyable.

A Great Adventure from Start to Finish
Overall, trekking through Mayong Village with Putu was a fantastic adventure. I loved discovering the beautiful scenery and hidden corners of the village, but what made the experience especially memorable was having a guide who was so knowledgeable, patient, flexible, and attentive.
As a young solo traveler, I really valued the fact that Putu made me feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after without taking away from my sense of independence.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic village adventure in Bali, especially solo travelers who appreciate a friendly local guide, flexible pacing, personal attention, beautiful scenery, and a strong sense of comfort and safety.
It was the perfect combination of exploration, nature, local culture, and adventure, and I had such a great time!
