A Customized VIP Bali Trekking Adventure – 27 Hours of Unforgettable Experiences

Some companies simply sell tours.

Bali Local Tour Guide  creates adventures designed entirely around the traveler.

With only 27 hours available in Bali before my flight to Komodo, I thought it would be impossible to fit in everything I wanted to experience. My dream was to explore the famous Sambangan Secret Garden Waterfalls and then continue directly to an overnight Mount Agung Sunrise Trek.

Logistically, it sounded almost impossible.

Fortunately, the team at Bali Local Tour Guide proved that nothing is impossible when passionate local people are determined to help.

Outstanding Planning Before I Even Arrived

Before travelling to Bali, I exchanged several emails with Dedi Andika.

Every message received a prompt, detailed, and helpful reply.

Rather than offering a standard itinerary, Dedi carefully listened to my schedule and created a completely customized private adventure that perfectly fit into the limited time I had between arriving in Bali and catching my flight to Komodo the following day.

Since returning to my hotel in Seminyak after visiting Sambangan would waste too much time, Dedi came up with an incredible solution.

Instead of sending me back to the hotel, the team welcomed me to their base camp in Ubud, where I could enjoy dinner, take a short nap, and prepare for the overnight climb of Mount Agung.

One of the staff members even offered me his own bed so I could rest for a few hours.

That level of generosity immediately showed me that this was much more than a tour company—it felt like being welcomed into a family.

Discovering Bali with Kadek

At exactly 9:00 AM, my driver Kadek Febri collected me from my hotel.

Having only landed in Bali at 2:00 AM that very morning, I was naturally exhausted, but the scenic drive through the island helped me relax while enjoying my first glimpse of Bali’s beautiful landscapes.

One thing that impressed me throughout the entire adventure was Kadek’s dedication.

Unlike many tour drivers who leave while guests are hiking, Kadek remained with me throughout the entire 27-hour journey.

He patiently waited during every trek, every activity, and even spent the night sleeping inside his van while I climbed Mount Agung.

That level of commitment is something I’ll never forget.

A VIP Adventure Through Sambangan’s Five Waterfalls

When we arrived in Sambangan Village, I met my local guide, Putu Nginguk.

From the very beginning, Putu made the experience feel completely personal.

Rather than simply leading the way, he created what truly felt like a VIP private adventure.

We explored the famous five waterfalls of Sambangan, each offering something unique.

Some waterfalls invited me to swim in crystal-clear pools.

Others offered exciting natural water slides.

At several locations I even had the opportunity to leap into the refreshing water from the surrounding cliffs.

Every stop brought another incredible adventure.

Knowing that many travellers want photographs but rarely have the opportunity to appear in them, Putu constantly volunteered to capture action shots of every jump, swim, and slide.

Instead of returning home with only memories, I came away with amazing photographs that perfectly documented one of the most exciting days of my life.

Hospitality Beyond Expectations

After completing the waterfall adventure, Kadek drove me to the Bali Jungle Trekking base in Ubud.

There, the team welcomed me like an old friend.

I enjoyed an inexpensive but delicious village dinner before taking a much-needed nap to prepare for the night’s next challenge.

One of the staff members generously offered me his own bed for a few hours of rest—a simple gesture that perfectly reflected the kindness and hospitality shown by everyone throughout the journey.

Conquering Bali’s Highest Volcano

Later that evening, Kadek drove me to the starting point of the legendary Mount Agung trek.

There I met my mountain guide, Wayan (Darma Castle).

Just like Putu earlier in the day, Wayan immediately made the experience feel personal.

Throughout the challenging overnight ascent, he constantly checked that I was comfortable, regularly offered snacks, and made sure I stayed hydrated and motivated.

As we climbed higher into the cool mountain air, the terrain became increasingly demanding.

At approximately 2,700 metres, our guides built a small fire to warm everyone while preparing hot drinks.

Sitting together beneath the stars beside a fire high on Bali’s most sacred volcano became one of the most memorable moments of the entire trip.

Although I consider myself a reasonably experienced hiker, Mount Agung was certainly a serious challenge.

What impressed me most was Wayan’s constant attention to safety.

Whenever we encountered difficult volcanic terrain, he carefully pointed out the safest footing and patiently guided me through every challenging section.

His experience and encouragement gave me complete confidence throughout the climb.

Reaching the summit after such an incredible journey was one of the greatest achievements of my travels.

It truly became a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Journey Wasn’t Over Yet

When I finally descended back to the trailhead after sunrise, Kadek was already waiting.

After spending the entire night sleeping in the van, he greeted me with the same warm smile as the previous morning.

Before returning to Seminyak, I asked if we could stop briefly at Besakih Temple, Bali’s largest and most important temple complex.

Without hesitation, Kadek happily agreed.

Although he had every reason to be tired himself, he never once showed it.

After exploring the temple, I fell asleep during the comfortable three-hour drive back to my hotel, completely exhausted but happier than I could have imagined.

Incredible Value for an Unforgettable Adventure

Considering the level of service, the customised itinerary, private transportation, accommodation, multiple guides, meals, and the incredible flexibility shown by the entire team, the value of this experience was remarkable.

Every guide and driver deserved every tip they received.

Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication went far beyond what anyone could reasonably expect from a tour company.

More Than a Tour Company

Looking back, what made this experience extraordinary wasn’t only the waterfalls, volcanoes, temples, or spectacular scenery.

It was the people.

Dedi Andika, Kadek Febri, Putu Nginguk, Wayan, and every member of the Bali Jungle Trekking family worked together to create a seamless adventure tailored specifically to my schedule and interests.

They didn’t simply organise activities.

They created an unforgettable journey.

If you’re looking for a company that genuinely cares about its guests, offers complete flexibility, prioritises safety, and delivers authentic adventures with outstanding local hospitality, I cannot recommend Bali Local Tour Guide highly enough.

Whenever I return to Bali for another trekking adventure, they will unquestionably be my first choice.

Some travel experiences fade with time.

This 27-hour journey never will.
