Some days while travelling become unforgettable because they combine breathtaking scenery, fascinating culture, and the kindness of the people you meet along the way.
Our journey through North Bali with Bali Local Tour Guide was exactly that.
Together, my mum and I spent an incredible day discovering hidden waterfalls, tropical forests, the iconic Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, and the spectacular Twin Lakes. It became one of the highlights of our holiday in Bali.
A Perfectly Organized Adventure
From the moment we were picked up at our hotel, everything was exceptionally well organized.
Our driver, Gede Agus Aditya Pramana, greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel comfortable.
Throughout the entire day, he was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help.
His English was excellent, making every conversation easy and enjoyable. As we travelled through the mountains of North Bali, he shared interesting stories about Balinese culture, local traditions, and the places we were visiting.
His professionalism and genuine kindness made the journey even more enjoyable.
Walking Through Bali’s Tropical Forest
Our first adventure was the Munduk Waterfalls Trekking.
The walk took us through one of the most beautiful tropical landscapes we had ever experienced.
Coming from Europe, we were fascinated by the incredible variety of plants growing everywhere around us.
Our local trekking guide introduced us to towering clove trees, fragrant coffee plants, cocoa trees, pineapples, bananas, and many other tropical fruits and spices that thrive in Bali’s fertile mountain region.
One of the most unforgettable moments was breathing in the wonderful aroma of cloves drifting through the fresh mountain air.
It was a scent completely unfamiliar to us, yet one that perfectly captured the atmosphere of rural Bali.
Every step through the forest revealed something new to discover.
Beautiful Hidden Waterfalls
The waterfalls themselves were absolutely stunning.
Hidden among dense tropical vegetation, they offered peaceful places to relax and appreciate the incredible beauty of North Bali.
The sound of cascading water combined with the cool mountain air created a wonderfully refreshing atmosphere.
Our local guide was friendly and knowledgeable, making sure we felt comfortable throughout the walk while sharing interesting information about the surrounding forest.
The trek was enjoyable, well-paced, and suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
Visiting the Iconic Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
After our waterfall adventure, we continued to one of Bali’s most famous landmarks—Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.
Located on the shores of Lake Beratan, this beautiful water temple appeared to float gently on the surface of the lake.
Surrounded by cool mountain air and mist-covered hills, the setting was simply breathtaking.
It is easy to understand why this temple has become one of Bali’s most photographed destinations.
Walking through the temple grounds allowed us to appreciate not only its beautiful architecture but also its deep spiritual importance to the Balinese people.
Admiring the Spectacular Twin Lakes
Our journey continued to the famous Twin Lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan.
Standing at the viewpoint overlooking both lakes was one of the most memorable moments of the day.
The panoramic scenery was incredible.
Dense rainforest surrounded the lakes, while the cool mountain climate provided a welcome escape from Bali’s tropical heat.
It was a peaceful place where we simply stopped, admired the view, and took countless photographs.
Outstanding Hospitality
Throughout the entire day, Gede Agus Aditya Pramana made every effort to ensure we were comfortable.
Whether answering our questions, helping us take photos, or simply sharing stories about life in Bali, he consistently went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable.
Combined with our wonderful local trekking guide, the day felt less like a commercial tour and more like exploring Bali with local friends.
A Day We Will Always Remember
Looking back, this adventure offered everything we could have hoped for.
Beautiful hidden waterfalls.
Lush tropical forests.
The unforgettable fragrance of clove plantations.
Ancient temples.
Spectacular mountain lakes.
Wonderful local guides.
And genuine Balinese hospitality.
