Great Tamblingan Jungle Trekking with a Traditional Canoe Ride

By – OlavHogen

If you’re looking to experience the real beauty of Bali beyond the beaches and busy tourist attractions, the Tamblingan Jungle Trekking Tour is an adventure that should not be missed.

Our day with Bali Local Tour Guide was one of the highlights of our holiday, combining untouched rainforest, ancient temples, a peaceful canoe ride across a sacred lake, and authentic Balinese hospitality—all in one unforgettable experience.

Into the Ancient Rainforest of Tamblingan

The adventure began with a warm welcome from our friendly local guide, whose knowledge and passion for the area made the experience truly special.

From the first steps into the rainforest, it was clear that this was far more than an ordinary nature walk.

Towering tropical trees, giant ferns, moss-covered rocks, and the sounds of birds filled the ancient forest. The fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere made us feel completely removed from the busy parts of Bali.

As we walked along the forest trails, our guide shared fascinating stories about the local ecosystem, traditional village life, and the spiritual significance of the Tamblingan area. His excellent knowledge transformed every stop into an opportunity to learn something new about Bali’s natural and cultural heritage.

Visiting Sacred Jungle Temples

One of the most memorable parts of the trek was visiting several beautiful temples hidden deep inside the rainforest.

Unlike the more famous temples crowded with visitors, these ancient sanctuaries felt incredibly peaceful and untouched. Surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of nature, they created a magical atmosphere that perfectly reflected the spiritual character of the Tamblingan region.

Learning about the history and traditions associated with these sacred places gave us a much deeper appreciation for Balinese culture.

A Peaceful Canoe Ride Across Lake Tamblingan

The highlight of the adventure came when we reached the shores of Lake Tamblingan.

Waiting for us was a traditional wooden canoe, carefully prepared by local villagers.

Slowly crossing the calm lake in this handcrafted boat became one of the most peaceful experiences of our entire Bali holiday.

The water was perfectly still, reflecting the surrounding rainforest and mountains like a giant mirror. With no engine noise and only the gentle sound of paddles touching the water, the journey felt incredibly relaxing.

As we approached another beautiful lakeside temple on the opposite shore, the scenery became even more spectacular.

It was one of those rare travel moments where you simply stop talking and quietly enjoy the beauty surrounding you.

A Delicious Lunch with the Best View

After completing the trek and canoe crossing, we enjoyed a well-deserved traditional Balinese lunch.

The restaurant overlooked the magnificent Twin Lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan, providing one of the most beautiful dining views we experienced during our stay in Bali.

Fresh local food, cool mountain air, and panoramic views over the lakes created the perfect ending to an already unforgettable adventure.
