How to Reach Sekumpul Waterfalls from Other Parts of Bali

Sekumpul Waterfalls is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in northern Bali, located in the lush highlands of Buleleng Regency. Surrounded by tropical forests, green hills, plantations, and traditional villages, the journey to Sekumpul is an adventure in itself. Visitors can reach the waterfall from different parts of Bali by traveling toward the northern highlands and continuing to the village of Sekumpul.

From South Bali, including Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, and Denpasar, travelers generally head north through Mengwi and the mountain roads toward Bedugul. From Bedugul, the journey continues toward Singaraja and then to the Sekumpul area. The drive can take approximately three to four hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

From Ubud, visitors can travel north through the central highlands toward Kintamani or Bedugul before continuing to the northern side of Bali. Another approach is through the rural areas of Gianyar and Bangli before connecting with the roads toward Buleleng. The journey usually takes around two to three hours, depending on the selected route.

From East Bali, including Amed, Candidasa, and Karangasem, travelers can cross the northern part of the island toward Singaraja and continue west toward Sekumpul. This route provides an opportunity to see a different side of Bali, including coastal villages, plantations, and mountain landscapes.

From West Bali, including Negara and the surrounding areas, visitors can travel east through the northern or central highlands before continuing toward Buleleng. Depending on the starting point, the journey may take several hours, but the quieter roads and rural scenery make it an enjoyable part of the trip.

From North Bali, especially Singaraja and Lovina, Sekumpul Waterfalls is relatively easy to reach by traveling south into the mountainous interior. The road passes through traditional villages and agricultural areas before arriving at the Sekumpul area.

After reaching the Sekumpul village area, the journey continues on foot. The waterfall is located in a valley surrounded by dense vegetation, so visitors need to walk along village paths, stairs, and forest trails. The final section can be steep and slippery, particularly during or after rainfall. Comfortable footwear and sufficient drinking water are recommended.

The journey to Sekumpul Waterfalls is an important part of the experience. Visitors pass through some of Bali’s most beautiful rural landscapes before descending into the lush valley where the waterfalls are located. The combination of dramatic waterfalls, tropical vegetation, mountain scenery, and traditional Balinese villages makes Sekumpul an unforgettable destination.

For travelers coming from other parts of Bali, it is best to start early in the morning, especially when traveling from southern or eastern Bali. Visitors should also check current road conditions, entrance arrangements, weather conditions, and local waterfall access requirements before beginning the trip.

Sekumpul Waterfalls is more than a destination—it is a journey through the natural beauty and traditional landscapes of North Bali.
