I really enjoyed my hike to Mount Catur. It was a beautiful experience, especially because the trail takes you through the forest and feels very peaceful along the way.
I did the hike with Bali Local Tour Guide, and having a local guide was very helpful, especially when going through some of the less obvious parts of the trail. The guide was also helpful in making sure we stayed on the right path and enjoyed the hike without rushing.
A Beautiful Little Temple at the Top
The highlight for me was reaching the top and finding a small, beautiful temple there. After the hike, it was really nice to sit for a while and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
The summit has a very special feeling to it. It is quiet, surrounded by nature, and feels quite different from the more touristy places in Bali.
The Last Part Is Quite Steep
The hike from the western side is quite steep, especially toward the end. I would say this part requires a bit of effort, so make sure you are prepared for a proper hike.
I would also recommend going back down using the same trail. If you continue toward the east, there isn’t really much else to see, so for me it made more sense to return the way we came.
Don’t Forget Long Pants
One thing I would definitely recommend is wearing long pants.
The trail goes through a damp forest, and there can be leeches along the way. I wasn’t expecting this at first, so wearing long pants is definitely a good idea.
Good hiking shoes are also important because some parts of the trail can be slippery and uneven.
Would I Recommend Mount Catur?
Yes, especially if you enjoy hiking and want to experience a quieter side of Bali.
Mount Catur is not an easy walk, particularly near the summit, but I really enjoyed the combination of forest, nature, and the small temple at the top.
Having Bali Local Tour Guide with us made the experience much easier and more enjoyable. The local knowledge was helpful, and I felt more comfortable knowing we were following the right trail.
Overall, it was a beautiful and memorable hike, and I would recommend Mount Catur Trekking to anyone looking for a more natural and peaceful hiking experience in Bali.
