Trip to Mt Lesung – North Bali
Today 16 Aug 2026 , we had the pleasure of handling a booking from one of our valued supporting agencies, Bali Exo, for a group of five guests who were originally scheduled to trek Mount Lesung.
As we met the guests in the morning and prepared to start the adventure, they informed us that two members of the group were not comfortable with steep uphill walking. Since the Mount Lesung trek involves quite a few challenging uphill sections, we immediately looked for the best solution—not simply to change the itinerary, but to make sure everyone could still enjoy an unforgettable experience together.
Thanks to our strong local team and flexible operation, we were able to make a last-minute itinerary adjustment without disrupting the overall experience. The group was divided into two routes: three guests continued with the original Mount Lesung trekking program, while the other two guests joined our guide for a Twin Lake Jungle Trek, which offered a more manageable and gentler route.
Although the group took different paths, our team carefully arranged both routes so that everyone could meet again at the same finishing point, Gubug Tamblingan Temple, where a picnic lunch beside Lake Tamblingan was waiting for them.
For the three guests continuing to Mount Lesung, the adventure began from Gesing Village, leading them deep into the beautiful forest surrounding Mount Lesung. The guests were fascinated by the scenery and atmosphere along the trail, frequently stopping to take photographs at every viewpoint and interesting spot they discovered along the way.
The trek continued with a visit to Nagaloka Cave, adding another unique element to their jungle adventure. After reaching the summit area of Mount Lesung, we took a well-deserved break and served Balinese coffee, tea, and traditional Balinese cakes, allowing the guests to relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere before beginning the descent.
For the descent, we took a different route toward Pande Temple, where a traditional canoe was waiting to take the guests across the lake to the final meeting point at Gubug Tamblingan Temple.
Meanwhile, our guide accompanying the two guests on the Twin Lake Jungle Trek carefully adjusted the route to make it less steep, more comfortable, and slightly longer, allowing them to enjoy the surrounding jungle without feeling rushed or physically overwhelmed. The goal was not simply to find an easier trail, but to create an experience that still felt adventurous and connected to the nature of the area.
Eventually, both groups arrived at the finishing point, only around 30 minutes apart. Most importantly, everyone was able to reunite and enjoy the picnic lunch together beside Lake Tamblingan, sharing stories about the different experiences they had just completed.
The day ended smoothly, happily, and without anyone feeling left behind.
For us, this experience is a great reminder that adventure does not always have to follow exactly what was planned on paper. Sometimes, the best experiences come from being flexible, listening to our guests, and finding the right solution at the right moment.
With a strong team, experienced local guides, and the ability to make last-minute adjustments, we can turn an unexpected challenge into an even more memorable journey.
