Our holiday in Bali was filled with incredible landscapes, unforgettable adventures, and beautiful memories. But when we look back on our trip, one person stands out as making the biggest difference—our wonderful driver, Kadek.
Before arriving in Bali, we booked two private tours with Bali Jungle Trekking: the Twin Lake Jungle Trekking Tour and the Mount Batur Sunrise Trek. We expected great tours, but we never imagined we would leave Bali feeling like we had made a lifelong friend.
Our first adventure was the Twin Lake Tour, and that was when we first met Kadek. From the moment he picked us up, his warm smile and calm personality immediately made us feel comfortable. He wasn’t simply a driver taking us from one destination to another—he genuinely cared about making sure we enjoyed every moment of our holiday.
Throughout the day, Kadek patiently answered our questions, shared stories about Balinese culture and local life, and happily stopped whenever we wanted to take photographs or simply admire the scenery. There was never any feeling of being rushed. The entire day flowed at our own pace, allowing us to fully enjoy the incredible beauty of North Bali.
His kindness extended far beyond transportation. Whether helping us with directions, waiting while we used cash machines, opening the car doors, or making sure we always felt comfortable and safe, every small gesture showed how much he genuinely cared about his guests.
After such a wonderful first experience, there was no question about who we wanted to accompany us on our second adventure. We specifically requested Kadek again for our Mount Batur Sunrise Trek, and we were delighted when he agreed.
Our second tour began incredibly early, with a 1:00 AM hotel pickup. Despite the hour, Kadek arrived exactly on time with the same friendly smile and positive attitude. During the drive to Mount Batur, he made sure we were comfortable and excited for the climb ahead.
While we hiked through the darkness toward the summit to witness Bali’s famous sunrise, Kadek quietly waited for us at the base of the mountain. After completing the trek, tired but incredibly happy, it was comforting to know he was already there, ready to welcome us back with a smile and safely drive us to our next destination.
Across both tours, Kadek was consistently professional, patient, and thoughtful. His attention to every detail made us feel completely safe throughout our holiday. As two travellers exploring a foreign country, that feeling of security meant everything to us.
Of course, the tours themselves were absolutely fantastic. The peaceful beauty of the Twin Lakes, the unforgettable jungle trekking, and the breathtaking sunrise from Mount Batur created memories we will treasure forever. But what transformed these adventures into something truly special was the genuine hospitality we experienced every single day.
By the end of our holiday, Kadek no longer felt like our driver—he felt like a friend. His kindness, generosity, and sincere care reminded us why Balinese hospitality is famous throughout the world.
Leaving Bali was difficult, not only because we were saying goodbye to such a beautiful island, but because we were saying goodbye to someone who had become an important part of our journey.
To Kadek, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did for us. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, your professionalism, and for making us feel so welcome every day. You made our holiday more memorable than we could ever have imagined.
When we return to Bali—and we definitely will—we won’t hesitate for a second. We will book more adventures with Bali Jungle Trekking, and without question, we will ask for Kadek again.
